Designed to give a professional finish to built up felt and liquid applied roofs.
Glasstrim is a glass reinforced polyester roof edge trim, designed to provide a weatherproof, decorative finish and strong clean lines to the roof edge. It also has a high glass fibre content giving a low coefficient of thermal expansion, solving the problem of splitting and leaks at the roof edge.
This roof edge trim provides permanent colour and resists corrosion and the extremes of atmospheric pollution.
Glasstrim is available ex-stock and all sections are standard 2.5 metre lengths supplied with a 75mm internal jointing sleeve. It is also available ex-stock in black & grey as are the internal and external angles, (200mm x 200mm x 90 ’).
Glasstrim has quality assured throughout the production process from raw material to finished product under EN IS0 9002.
Glasstrim is a pultruded glass reinforced polyester roof edge trim, designed to provide a weatherproof decorative finish and strong clean line to the roof edge.
Pultrusion is a continuous moulding process producing straight cut lengths of section. Reinforced fibres are drawn into a resin impregnation zone and then pulled through a heated die. Here the shape of the end product is determined by the configuration of the die and the resin is polymerised. Quality is assured by advanced techniques applied throughout the production process from raw material to finished product - under EN ISO 9002.
Glasstrim should be fixed by means of corrosion resistant fixings suitable for the substrate at not more than 300mm (12")centres with the ends of each length firmly secured. A minimum of 8 fixings per length is recommended.
It is recommended that Glasstrim Type 6 is also Face Fixed.
Priming of the fixing leg is recommended.
The first layer of felt should be dressed over the kerb and the Glasstrim fixed into position as described. The top layer of felt is laid in a similar manner over the trim and the top edge turned into the hood thus eliminating the outside edge of the top layer of felt lifting.
For Mastic Asphalt.
V-Trim G.R.P. is a glass reinforced polyester roof edge trim, designed to provide a weatherproof decorative finish and strong clean lines to the roof edge. It also has a high glass fibre content giving a low coefficient of thermal expansion, solving the problem of splitting and leaks at the roof edge.
The roof edge trim provides permanent colour, resists corrosion and the extremes of atmospheric pollution.
V-Trim G.R.P. is available ex-stock and all sections are standard 2.5 metre lengths supplied with 75mm internal jointing sleeves. It is also available ex-stock in black. As are the internal and external angles, (200mm x 200mm x 90°).
V-Trim G.R.P. has quality assured throughout the production process from raw material to finished product under ISO 9002.
V-Trim G.R.P. trims should be fixed with screws at not more than 300mm centres, with the ends of each length firmly secured. A minimum of 8 fixings per length is recommended.
V-Trim G.R.P.trims can be fixed in position prior to the laying of the asphalt. On timber kerbs, the sheathing felt and expanded metal lathing should be fixed to the inside edge of the fixing arm. On concrete roofs the sheathing felt is stopped at the base of the kerb. The mastic asphalt skirtings are then laid with the top edge turned under the protective hood of the G.R.P. Trim.
